The FQHC Challenge
A Southeast FQHC was expanding from one to three locations and increasing staff from 20 employees to 150. The entity was in need of a technology expansion and upgrade in addition to coordination with external EMR and care software, as well as, local hospital interfaces.
With HRSA applications pending, financial resources were minimal to dedicate to technology needs. Local patient needs increased the timing for this upgrade and expansion to proceed.
Our Approach
RDI services FQHC entities in multiple States. Unique to the industry, we maintain an approach coordinating operational and technical expertise in entity assessments and implementations. Our pro-active approach and understanding of regulations and HRSA requirements assure that services and implementations meet or exceed pending patient and client needs while maintaining budgetary considerations.
To assist in meeting community and HRSA requirements in the start-up timing, RDI presented a proposal where the purchase, installation, and management of their hardware and infrastructure would be managed by RDI as a service model or Hardware as a Service (HAAS).
The flat monthly fee for the services assisted them in maintaining start-up budgetary concerns while supplying appropriate infrastructure and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) services for the pending transition and assisting with HRSA requirements.
Minimizing upfront dollars was a significant positive for this developing entity; RDI leveraged resources and vendors to assist in meeting the Center’s go-live time constraints and assuring all requirements were in place for HRSA reviews and site visits.
Success Results
The Hardware as a Service model has expanded with this centers development and needs. In addition to full-time on-site technology staff, RDI has coordinated and implemented:
- Phone systems
- Cybersecurity needs
- Help desk & coaching support
- Network monitoring
- Servers, fax/printers
- Cloud applications
This coordination has assisted the entity in maintaining a stable technology budget contributing to the Centers value to the patients and the community.
From the positive working relationship and partnership with this FQHC and RDI Intuitive Technical team, we have assisted in the growth and service expansions of this entity in their market.
